Health Care Services

Rural Health Care

Rural Health Care Centre spearheads a comprehensive health care programme launched in the year 1994. Under this programme, an outpatient clinic is being run and medical facilities like clinical investigations, pharmacy, physiotherapy, dressing, etc. are provided. These facilities are availed by our school children and rural public.

Physiotherapy

A well-equipped physiotherapy unit caters to the needs of the differently-abled. Differently-abled children are admitted for physiotherapy management and for developmental therapy. This unit helps the differently-abled children a lot, who are studying in our school and staying in our hostel. General cases are also attending the physiotherapy unit. Click here for Photo Gallery

New Born Screening

The first and foremost step in disability management is “Early detection“ by screening newborn babies. Screening helps us to differentiate the disabled from the general population.

Ecomwel Orthopaedic Centre has a trained team to screen newborn babies for any signs of inherent or oncoming disability. Babies with high-risk indicators are then given appropriate intervention and the parents are counseled accordingly.

Early Detection and Early Intervention

“Detection” or “Identification” is the process of confirming the diagnosis of a condition. Detection is a crucial aspect of the rehabilitation process. Proper identification and diagnosis are the basis for “Intervention”.

Early detection leads to early intervention. Screening is the very first step of detection and diagnosis. Early intervention is the first intervention strategy in the process of rehabilitation. Early intervention helps in many ways but the main job of this is to reduce discrepancies between the normal development and the existing development of the children.

Early intervention refers to the introduction of a planned programme, deliberately timed and arranged in order to alter the anticipated or projected course of development.

The major three purposes of Early intervention are:-

  1. Preventive in nature
  2. Early intervention helps in treating or curing the condition.
  3. It focuses on remediation.

A team of professionals of Ecomwel Orthopaedic Centre – Special Educators, Rehabilitation therapist and Pediatrician does this job by prescribing appropriate remedial plans for the children.

Sensory Integration

The sensory stimulation unit is very helpful for children with delayed development and children with Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and other developmental disorders under the age of two years.

These children need proper sensory stimulation and sensory integration training. The development of the child can be improved by giving proper Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Tactile stimulation. It also helps to avoid further handicaps and other problems related to disability. This unit is equipped with material that helps to stimulate their Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Tactile senses.

Orthopaedic Workshop

Ecomwel Orthopaedic Centre is manufacturing different types of Orthopaedic appliances for differently-abled persons and special footwear made of Micro Cellular Rubber ( MCR ) for leprosy patients. Click here for Photo Gallery
